Brian Casey

Original Composition + Sound Design

At a very young age Brian Casey knew there was only one thing he wanted to do when he grew up:  make music.  Playing piano and singing in touring choirs since the ripe age of five, Brian has had an eclectic and broad musical youth, ranging from touring Europe as an adolescent choir member to playing guitar and singing in rock bands at local dives as a teenager.  After graduating from Kennedy High School in Bloomington in 2001, Brian attended the University of St. Thomas where he studied composition, guitar and vocal performance, and music business.

His career as a composer for advertising began as a college sophomore when he and writing partner/friend Danny Burke landed there first job for inthegroove: a Buddy Lee Jeans commercial.  Lucky for inthegroove, Brian’s talent as a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and vocal arranger has only flourished with time.  Working under the moniker The Skeptics, he and Danny have won a number of awards and composed for brands such as Sony Pictures, Anheuser Busch, e-Harmony, Lincoln, Taco Johns, Hot Wheels, Bell South, Barbie, MTV, Lee Jeans, Coke, BMW and a slue of others.

Brian’s love for music is shared by his passion for Vikings football, his weiner dog Hermione, and Sci-fi/Fantasy books and movies.  When asked what he’d do if he couldn’t make music for a living he responded:  “I would probably die within ten hours.  I have no other skills.  Seriously.”

Brian & Danny are also currently performing & writing for two band projects: The Neo-Disco outfit Man is Doomed, and The Art-Pop band Glorious Monster.
